Game Installation

I know this is an early version of the mod, but I wanted to say that the game installation is an area that could use a lot of work. Not to put your work down at all! Just that installing games, isn't easy.

Would be great to see a more automated installation of grabbing say the .RAR/.ZIP file, unpacking it and filling out the basics of the forms at least. Enough to get the game going. I'm sure it's in your plans (at least some changes anyway), but the sooner, the better. =)

There's many areas that require a lot of work, and will eventually receive it..

I'm fairly certain that this area in particular, will integrate some kind of open source third-party script to handle the unpacking of compressed files.

Hello i am new to this.

I have downloaded the arcade files from the DOWNLOAD thread but there is no .xml file ? Before I upload the upload files to my server, can someone please guide me step by step how it will work once I upload the folders to the root directory.

The xml file is in the library/Arcade directory of the upload folder. I know it seems weird and it's been commented on before.

I've installed the files and can see the xf options, games in /admin

But I can't see any Arcade tab or anything on my site ?

Can we download, install games now from the suggested sites in the games section on this site?

Oh and, why is the drop down menu empty? I see all the games and can play them once I click on the Arcade Tab, but the actual drop down is empty hmm.

Can you also explain what Enable Champion Seal? and Enable Champion Text? mean please?

The enable champion seal & text right now doesn't work. It's going to be something on the user's profile when it's done.

As to downloading and loading games, yes you can go to the suggested links. Please note that loading new games is a real trial right now until you get used to it. I have detailed instructions somewhere and will link them when I find it.

Also note that most of the sites I mentioned are pretty non-user friendly and some require money. Or I may start putting games on my site for easy download. Haven't decided if I really wanted to do that yet.

Under "User Permissions" or "User Group Permissions" XF Arcade is at the bottom with 4 option buttons.
