Power Rangers (2017)

The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers TV show is getting the US movie machine reboot treatment. It kind of looks like The Breakfast Club that culminates with monsters & mysterious alien tech.

Power Rangers, at least as it'll be titled in the US, is being released by Lionsgate with a 2017 release date. Gone is the silly camp feel of the original series (which itself was mostly dubbed from Japanese TV shows) and replaced with a decidedly more mature and darker setting. With such a departure from the source material it'll be interesting to see if millenials who grew up watching the original will embrace this rebooted version.

The kids used to watch that show.
I will watch this for the monsters. I love monster designs.
Alien tech could be cool but if my suspicions are right (and they usually are), the depicted alien tech will resemble human tech with weird colors added for effect.
I'll be waiting for a good stream of this at any rate.

I caught this one yesterday and the description above is pretty apt. I did not grow up watching the various TV shows so somebody else's perspective (*cough* somebody a heck of a lot younger *cough*) might view the movie differently. For me though it seemed to be yet another in a series of movies that is overly inspired by the Jerry Bruckheimer Transformers movie formula of slick graphics, no time for character development, constantly playing music, fast-cut action scenes that make no sense, and a barely there plot.

What country is this film from? I think the Breakfast club was a film in the 80's, much, much different.
